what’s new, jazzcats? [wk 1, August 2010]
Forget driving out of town this Labor Day Weekend as Garden City Jazz proudly presents UNCOMMON Jazz, a classic jazz festival, Sunday, September 5, in beautiful downtown at The Augusta Common.
Bring your lawn chair & relax (or dance) and enjoy music reminiscent of Count Basie, Chet Baker, Louis Prima, Esperanza Spalding, Jamie Cullum, & Herbie Hancock. Recording and international touring artists paired with area musicians and educators will create a vibrant energy.
This is jazz music. It’s alive! You can dance to it. Sing along. And the kids can wiggle and shake. So bring the children, but please leave pets and coolers at home. Vendors will provide an array of offerings to satisfy any appetite.
